JOB TITLE : Junior Accountant
DEPARTMENT : Administration - Operations
REPORT DIRECTLY TO : CEO, COO and Finance Director
As the Junior Accountant, the position will work closely with the CEO, COO and Finance Director. As part of the team we will be looking
for you to (but not limited to) :
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintains financial records for subsidiary companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
- Handles petty Cash and payroll making.
- Reconciles general and subsidiary bank accounts by gathering and balancing information.
- Provides financial status information by preparing special reports; completing special projects.
- Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
- Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
- Maintains accounting controls by following policies and procedures; complying with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
- Degree in Finance & Accounting from and accredited school.
- Fluent in French and English (written and oral).
- knowledge of financial reporting.
- Minimum 3 years of General Math Skills and Accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
- Excellent organizing abilities.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Proven experience as a junior accountant.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must be mentally and physically fit and have the ability to work long periods. Should be energetic and enthusiastic and willing to work under pressure to meet deadlines tasks, and duties of the jobholder might differ from those outlined in this job description and that other duties, as assigned, might be part of the job.
